Effect of Early Feeding
Triggers growth in hatchlings.
Utilises the residual yolk faster
Increases body weight gains
Enhances the GIT development in chicklings.
Early nutrition enhances growth and speeds up gut development
ENERGY REQUIREMENT TO CHICKS AFTER HATCH
The energy requirement for a hatchling broiler chick for the first 24 hrs has estimated at approximately 11 kcal.
Assuming the amount of residual yolk released in the first 24 hours were used totally for energy (i.e. gross energy = metabolizable energy), the total potential is only 9.4 kcal.
Thus, without additional nutritional supplies, the chick is clearly energy deficit and will invariably lose weight
Chicks are fed Virachick either at the hatchery in the transport box or at the farm as a top dressing application over starter feed. The recommended feeding rate is as follows.
Hatchery ( In The Transport Box )
Between 200 and 250 grams of Virachick per 100 chicks.
Distribute evenly as the box is subdivided into quadrants.
Farm ( Top – Dress application )
Between 200 and 250 g of Virachick per 100 chicks per day for the first 2 to 3 days of age.
Distribute Virachick evenly on top of the starter feed. Do not mix.
Re-hydration
The suggested hydration rate is 2 litres of water per 10 kg Virachick. If the box is opened.
